Interested In applying for housing at Lighthouse Villa?
We’re currently under construction and anticipate completion in early 2026.
In the coming November/December time frame, our Property Manager will be reviewing the BC Housing applications for seniors 65+ years who live in Bowser and/or the surrounding community.
Here’s what you need to know to start your application:
Lighthouse Villa is comprised of three levels of rent:
SUBSIDIZED:
MARKET:
All applications must go through BC Housing first

When viewing the Housing Listings, “Where do you want to live?”, for the specific location, please note: Lighthouse Villa does not yet have an identity code on the list of BC Housing options. This means neither Bowser nor Lighthouse Villa is currently available to choose*. We anticipate receiving our code in September or October and will notify members of Bowser Seniors Housing Society when that code becomes available so that interested parties can apply specifically to our residence.
* If you are filling in your application before we get our identity code, please use ’General Location’ and choose ‘Vancouver Island North & Nanaimo’ to see the housing options currently in our area. When we have our code you can call into BC Housing and ask them to update your file.
We encourage you to check out your eligibility online given that we have both subsidized and market units for rent. Even if you currently own property or feel your income might be too high for you to qualify, you’ll never know until you go through the process.
If you don’t have access to a computer or don’t feel you’re familiar enough with doing the application online, we’ve attached paper forms for your convenience.
If you need assistance with your application, please contact SOS Parksville to make an appointment for personal help. You can reach them by phone at 250-248-2093 or visit their office at 245 West Hirst Ave, Parksville.
As an aside, if you are a BC senior in need of immediate financial assistance with your rental housing, BC Housing has a program called SAFER (Shelter Aid for Elderly Renters) that may be able to assist. Shelter Aid For Elderly Renters (SAFER) | BC Housing. Tenants at Lighthouse Villa will not be eligible for SAFER because the rents are already subsidized.
