  • Firewood Sale! September 23-24!

Now that the weather has cooled….. our firewood sale is back on for this coming week-end September 23 and 24th.

For the past thirteen years, Bowser Seniors Housing Society (BSHS) has been working to build Independent Supportive Housing that will allow seniors to remain in their community when they can no longer maintain their homes.

The Board has been busy fundraising over the last four years to make this dream a reality.   We are hoping for funding in the very near future from government sources.

This is exciting news!  However, this is not 100% project funding and we will still have to carry a mortgage.   To keep the mortgage as small as possible, we will continue to fundraise.   Our upcoming fundraiser on September 23rd and 24th  is an opportunity for you to cut Firewood  This is a Community Firewood Fundraiser and has been made possible through Island Timberlands on their private forest land.

To participate you will need to travel to the gate at the top of Cochrane Road (6.5 km from Hwy 19A) in Qualicum Bay between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 23rd  and Sunday, September 24th.   You will need power saws and protective equipment and be prepared to pay at the gate for your permit – $30.00 CASH for every half cord (equivalent to a level pick up bed or utility trailer).   The last permit will be issued at 2:30 p.m. each day, with the gate locked at 4 p.m.

Please come out and support Bowser Seniors Housing Society.
